The stout iron bar with 13 Chinese inch markings (about 1 1/8 of an English inch) engraved on one side, provided with a simple iron guard & facetted pommel. The grip wrapped with rawhide. Very good condition. These weapons developed in areas where officials tried to ban the carrying of swords & muskets beginning in the KangXi era. Artisans & farmers began using the tool of their livelihood as weapons. $235
